Via “Manage statuses”. The defaults are Inbox, Planned, Up next, Focus, Blocked and Done. You can rename, add and reorder, but a board needs at least one status.
How does the team chat on the board work?How-to
Page to shareHow does the team chat on the board work?
Every board has a team chat. You show only the board, both side by side, or “Chat only”. In the chat, mention people with @name and tasks with #task. @Peak replies only to you. “Possible tasks from the conversation” suggests tasks from the discussion.

Press Q or choose “Add task” below a column, type the name and press Enter. Esc closes the field. With “To inbox”, a task lands at the top of the inbox; there's no form.

Drag it to “Blocked” or press B. Peak asks “What's blocking it?”: Waiting on someone, Dependency, Missing information or Other, plus a short note. “Skip” works too. After three days, the card shows “Follow-up due”.
- Drag the task to “Blocked”, or select it and press B.
- Choose a reason; for “Waiting on someone”, note the name (“Who? e.g. Max”).
- Confirm with OK.

Page to shareCan I see the board as a list?
Yes. Switch between Board and List at the top under “View”. Both show the same tasks. If the space next to the team chat gets too narrow, Peak suggests “Switch to list”. With “Automatically use list when space is tight”, that happens by itself.

Page to shareHow do I turn a chat message into a task?
Hover over the message in the team chat and choose “Create task”. The task lands in the inbox and shows “From team chat”, and the message links back. Conversely, you share a task via its menu with “Share in team chat”, as a link, not a copy.

Page to shareWhat happens to the tasks when I remove a status?
They're kept. Under “Manage statuses”, you archive a status with the trash icon. Peak then asks which status the tasks should move to. Each status also has a “Meaning”, so suggestions and automations still know what “Focus” or “Blocked” is.
- Open “Manage statuses”.
- Choose the trash icon on the status.
- At the bottom, choose where the tasks go (“… tasks from archived statuses go to”).
- Click “Save”.
How do I search the board or ask Peak something?How-to
Page to shareHow do I search the board or ask Peak something?
Press / or type in “Search or ask Peak”. Search finds tasks, comments, people and chat messages. Peak answers questions like “What should I do today?”, “What's blocking right now?” or “How was my week?” from your board, based on fixed rules.

New chat messages arrive with a delay.Answer
Page to shareNew chat messages arrive with a delay.
That's by design: the board loads new messages every 12 seconds when the chat is open, otherwise every 60 seconds. Real time comes later. Your message is saved as soon as it appears in the history.
What do “Tidy board” and the automations do?Answer
Page to shareWhat do “Tidy board” and the automations do?
“Tidy board”, “Lighten focus”, “Tidy inbox” and “Suggest next tasks” follow fixed, traceable rules, and you confirm every suggestion. You create automations in your own words. If Peak doesn't understand a sentence, it says so.
Why does a column show a “!” or “getting full”?Answer
Page to shareWhy does a column show a “!” or “getting full”?
Some columns have a guideline: Focus about 3, Up next about 7 tasks. If there are more, Peak shows “getting full”, and with significantly more, “N tasks at once in …”. It never blocks anything. You change the guideline under “Manage statuses”, and “Lighten focus” suggests what can wait.
Where do I find completed tasks on the board?Answer
Page to shareWhere do I find completed tasks on the board?
In the “Done” column. It's collapsed and shows Today, Week or All, whichever you choose. Nothing disappears automatically: the automation that archives completed tasks after 30 days is off at first. You turn it on under Automations.
What does “Hold priority” mean?Answer
Page to shareWhat does “Hold priority” mean?
The order in a column is the priority. “Hold priority” in a card's menu pins it in place, shown by the pin. Suggestions like “Tidy board” or “Lighten focus” won't move such a card.

Not yet. Guests, client chat and sharing boards come later. Until then, assignees are free-text names. Attachments in the chat don't work yet, but links do.
