Type the calculation the way you'd say it, for example “119 incl. 19%”, “19% of 4990”, “cost 32 price 79” or “100 to 125”. Peak picks the right calculator, fills in the fields and shows the result right away. If the detection is off, change the fields or choose a different calculator.

    1. Open Peak Calculate; press / to jump to the input field.
    2. Type the calculation, or choose “VAT”, “Percent”, “Margin” or “Discount” at the top.
    3. Under “Detected”, check what Peak understood and adjust the fields if needed.
    4. Click “Copy result”, or use “Show calculation” to see every step.

  • How do I compare several selling prices side by side?How-to

How do I compare several selling prices side by side?

Under “Compare” → “Price scenarios”, you enter cost per unit, optionally fees and the tax country once, and calculate up to five prices side by side. For each price, Peak shows margin, gross profit per unit, markup and the difference from “Today”. Peak doesn't estimate sales volumes.

    1. Open Peak Calculate → “Compare”.
    2. Choose “Price scenarios” and enter the cost per unit.
    3. Enter the prices under “Scenarios”. “Add scenario” adds more.

  • Which VAT applies when I sell abroad?How-to

Which VAT applies when I sell abroad?

In the calculator's tax section, open “International: seller and customer country”. You choose both countries, consumer (B2C) or business (B2B), and goods, services or digital. Peak shows the standard case based on fixed rules, with an explanation. It's a reference, not tax advice.

    1. Below the calculator, expand “International: seller and customer country”.
    2. Choose “Seller is based in”, “Customer is based in”, “Customer type” and “What is being sold”.
    3. Read the result. If it says “! Rule-based · further transaction details can change the result.”, look at the case more closely.
    4. Click “Apply this tax context” to calculate with it.

How do I calculate an old receipt with the tax rate that applied at the time?

In the tax section, enter the invoice date under “Reference date”. Peak then calculates with the rate that applied on that day. Empty means today. History entries keep the tax data of their day; “Duplicate” reopens them with today's tax rates.

  • Where do the tax rates come from, and how current are they?Answer

Where do the tax rates come from, and how current are they?

Every country has a tax profile with standard, reduced and zero rates, each with a validity period and the official source, which is linked below the result. The profiles are reference data with an as-of date; a review process by Peak hasn't been built yet. For older receipts you choose a reference date, and Peak calculates with the rate that applied on that day. You can always enter your own rate.

  • What's the difference between margin and markup?Answer

What's the difference between margin and markup?

Margin relates the profit to the (net) selling price, markup to the purchase cost. With €20 cost and €30 selling price, that's 33.3% margin and 50% markup. Peak always shows both separately. For a price with a target margin, Peak calculates cost ÷ (1 − margin), not cost + percent.

  • Why is Peak one cent off from my invoice?Troubleshooting

Why is Peak one cent off from my invoice?

Usually it's rounding. Peak rounds like an invoice: the net amount is rounded from the gross and the tax is the difference, so the three amounts add up exactly. With several line items, you choose between rounding per line and per tax rate. “Show calculation” and “Show raw values without rounding” reveal every digit.

  • “Not recognized. Choose a calculator below; your values stay.” What does that mean?Error message

“Not recognized. Choose a calculator below; your values stay.” What does that mean?

Peak couldn't match your input to a calculator. Phrase it like the examples, such as “119 incl. 19%”, “cost 32 price 79” or “100 to 125”, or choose the calculator yourself. Your numbers stay in place.

“Not a number.” Why won't Peak accept my amount?

The field contains something Peak can't read as a number, such as a letter or a doubled separator. Allowed formats include 1,250.50, 1250.50 or 19%.

  • Where do my calculations go?Not available yet

    Where do my calculations go?

History stays only in this browser and automatically records every finished calculation, with the tax data of its day. Saved calculations also stay in the browser without an account; with an account, they're stored privately in your Peak account and available on all your devices. A shared link only contains the calculation's inputs, no data from your account.
