  • How do I get my first carbon footprint in Peak ESG?How-to

How do I get my first carbon footprint in Peak ESG?

All you need are the annual figures on your bills. Enter last year's electricity consumption and Peak immediately calculates the first tonnes of CO₂e. Under “Data” you add gas, heating oil, fuel receipts, business travel and shipping. Mark what doesn't apply with “Doesn't apply to us”; leave blank what you don't know.

    1. Open Peak ESG and enter electricity consumption in kWh.
    2. Switch to “Data” and fill in the other categories for the year.
    3. Save: the overview shows the total, scopes, largest sources and gaps.

  • How do I compare my emissions with the previous year?How-to

How do I compare my emissions with the previous year?

Enter the previous year under “Data” as well. At the top you choose the reporting year; a dot marks years that already have data. As soon as both years have values, the overview shows the change from the previous year. If you recorded different categories in the two years, Peak says “not fully comparable: different categories recorded”.

    1. Open Peak ESG → “Data”.
    2. Choose the previous year at the top.
    3. Enter what you know from invoices and receipts, and leave unknowns empty.
    4. Click “Save data …” and open the overview of the current year.

  • Where do the emission factors in Peak ESG come from, and how accurate are they?Answer

Where do the emission factors in Peak ESG come from, and how accurate are they?

Every factor names its source and year, such as the German electricity mix from the German Environment Agency (UBA) or the UK government's conversion factors (DESNZ/DEFRA). They're rounded reference values, which is why “Estimate” appears everywhere. If a factor changes, the new one only applies from its year; earlier reports stay the same. There's no standard factor for purchased goods: they only count if you enter your own factor with a source.

  • Is the report from Peak ESG an official sustainability report?Answer

Is the report from Peak ESG an official sustainability report?

No. The report follows the structure of the Basic Module of the voluntary standard for SMEs (VSME) and works as a response to requests from customers or banks. It isn't audited and doesn't cover every disclosure: pollution, biodiversity, water, waste and corruption cases are missing and are named as such in the report. You can print it, save it as a PDF or export it as CSV.
