3How do I set up Time & Leave for my team?How-to
Page to shareHow do I set up Time & Leave for my team?
An owner or admin sets up leave planning once: take over the absence types, then enter allowances per person and year and a holiday calendar. Without an allowance no leave request is possible, and Peak counts public holidays only once they are entered. Minimum staffing is optional.
- Open Time & Leave in your company's workspace and click “Apply”. Peak creates the usual types; only vacation counts against the allowance.
- Under “Rules”, enter the allowances: person, year, annual entitlement and carry-over.
- Create a calendar with “Create holiday calendar” and add the holidays that apply to you.
- Optional: under “Minimum staffing / blackout”, set how many people must be present. As a binding rule it blocks request and approval.

In the “Absences” tab with “Plan leave”. Peak calculates the working days, shows your remaining allowance after the request and warns if too many people in the team are away at once. Your team lead or an owner or admin can approve, never you yourself. Depending on the policy, HR approves afterwards as well. Until the decision the request counts as open; once approved it appears in Peak Plan, Peak Calendar and your day.
- Open Time & Leave → “Absences” and click “Plan leave”.
- Choose the type, first and last day and, if needed, a half day (morning or afternoon off).
- Check the calculation and the notes on team capacity.
- Click “Request leave”. With “Withdraw” you take back an open request.

In the “Working time” tab you start the timer or add times with breaks afterwards. At the end of the period you submit it for approval with “Submit period”. After that you can no longer change the times. Prerequisite: your employment exists in People Core and is linked to Time & Leave, and HR has assigned you a work schedule.
- Open Time & Leave → “Working time”.
- Click “Start timer” and later “Stop timer”, or enter start, end and breaks via “Add time”.
- Under “Check”, see whether there are open time issues, such as a deficit against the target.
- Click “Submit period”.

Frequently asked
1Does my leave go into my Google or Outlook calendar and into payroll?Answer
Page to shareDoes my leave go into my Google or Outlook calendar and into payroll?
Into your calendar yes, at the push of a button: under “Absences” → “My calendar · sync absences”, “Sync calendar” blocks your approved absences in your primary Google or Outlook calendar, without private reasons. Your calendar must be connected under Settings → Integrations. For payroll, an admin creates a file with locked working times and approved absences using “Export payroll”. There is no direct connection to a payroll program.

Errors & problems
1Time & Leave doesn't load or shows “Set up employment first”. What can I do?Error message
Page to shareTime & Leave doesn't load or shows “Set up employment first”. What can I do?
Time & Leave needs a company you are a member of and, for time tracking, an employment from People Core. Switch to your company's workspace at the top. If it says “Set up employment first”, HR creates your employment in People Core and assigns you a work schedule. Without access, ask an owner or admin to check your permissions. Your data is kept in any case.
