A task from the board doesn't appear in Day.
Day shows tasks that have a day: the scheduled day, otherwise the due date. Board tasks without a date deliberately don't appear, so your day doesn't overflow.
- Open the task on the board.
- Give it a due date, or schedule it to a day in Day via “Inbox”.
- You'll find open items from the last four weeks in Day under “Left behind”.
