Write the goal as one sentence, for example “Contribution margin from 17% to 23% by the end of Q1”. Peak recognizes the metric, starting value, target value, unit and deadline and shows what it recognized. You check it, add the owner and the why, tick the first tasks and create it. Nothing is made up: whatever isn't in the sentence stays empty.
- Open Peak Goals and choose “New goal”.
- Write the outcome as a sentence or use a template.
- Check the values, owner and “Contributes to”.
- Tick the first tasks and leading indicators, then “Create goal”.

Frequently asked
6How does Peak Goals calculate progress, confidence and forecast?Answer
Page to shareHow does Peak Goals calculate progress, confidence and forecast?
Progress is (actual − starting value) / (target − starting value); if the target is below the starting value, lower counts as better. Milestone goals count weighted milestones. The forecast projects the trend of the latest values to the deadline, or, without history, the pace since the start. Confidence follows from the forecast, blockers, overdue milestones and broken assumptions, and is averaged with your own assessment. Every number says what it is based on; “Why?” on the goal page shows the reasons.
Are a goal's tasks the same as in Board, Day and Task?Answer
Page to shareAre a goal's tasks the same as in Board, Day and Task?
Yes. Peak Goals has no task list of its own. A task you create on a goal lands on “My Day” and is linked to the goal; you link existing tasks on the goal page. Checking it off checks it off everywhere. If you remove the link, the task stays.
Why do I see my revenue goal from the Funnel Planner in Peak Goals?Answer
Page to shareWhy do I see my revenue goal from the Funnel Planner in Peak Goals?
Because it's the same goal. Funnel Planner, Work and Peak Goals share one goal object; there is no copy. If actual revenue changes in the Funnel Planner, Peak Goals sees the new value.
How many focus goals should I have?Answer
Page to shareHow many focus goals should I have?
At most three per level (company, team, personal). You set the priority in the goal to “Focus”, “Active” or “Later”. If there are more than three focus goals, the overview shows “Focus diluted”. Goals that don't contribute to anything appear under “Goals without an anchor”.

Page to shareWhat does “Missing: …” under goal quality mean?
Peak checks seven signals on every goal: owner, measurable outcome, current status, path to delivery, next task, confidence and review cadence. If one is missing, Peak names it. If all are there, it says “All seven signals are there.”

Your metric goal doesn't have an actual value yet. Enter one under “New value”. If the starting value is missing, Peak calculates from 0; add it in the goal. A forecast needs a starting value, a target date and at least one week of history.

Not yet. Goals are private until team roles arrive. For now, the owner and contributors are names on the goal, not permissions.
