How do I create our first job?

When you first open the app, pick a starting point such as “Account Executive” or type your own title and click “Create job”. The job is saved right away and stays in the history with its effective date. You add purpose, levels and skills afterwards. Jobs describe the work; positions are the concrete seats in your teams.

    1. Open Jobs, Roles & Positions in the company.
    2. Click “Create as first job” on a template, or enter a title under “Or your own title”.
    3. Add purpose and levels under “Jobs”.
    4. Under “Positions”, create the positions per team with “Create position”.

How do I request, approve and fill a position?

A position goes Draft → Requested → Approved → Open → Hiring → Offer → Filled. HR, or the team lead for their own team, requests it, and HR approves it explicitly. Filling it and linking recruiting only work once the position is approved and active. Peak sets “Filled” itself from the assignment to an employment.

    1. Under “Positions”, click “Request position” and submit the request with a reason.
    2. HR opens the position, chooses “Change status” and clicks “Approve position”.
    3. Optional: “Link recruiting” with the ID from your recruiting.
    4. “Fill position”: choose employment and start. “End assignment” when the person leaves.

  • How do I import jobs and positions?How-to

How do I import jobs and positions?

Via “Import jobs & positions” as CSV or JSON with up to 250 rows. Peak resolves references by canonical IDs. “Check preview” applies the same rules as saving. A single error discards the whole import, so nothing is created halfway. You get a sample structure with “Download JSON template”.

    1. Open “Import jobs & positions”.
    2. If needed, download the JSON template and fill it in.
    3. Choose the file, check the mapping and click “Check preview”.
    4. Click “Confirm import”.

Errors & problems

  • What do the error messages mean when I save a job or a position?Error message

What do the error messages mean when I save a job or a position?

The most common ones: “Possible duplicate job found” means a similar job already exists. Reuse it, or tick “Checked: deliberately save a separate job”. Two primary assignments of the same person can't overlap in time. Before archiving a position, end its assignments. FTE lies between 0.01 and 2. “Record changed. Please reload.” means someone saved at the same time.
