Peak SOP

Recurring work as executable processes: capture it, run it step by step, see where it gets stuck, improve it.

How do I turn a recurring task into a process?

Tell Peak SOP about it in your own words. After four questions (task, trigger, sequence, done when) you have a runnable draft you can test right away. Everything is saved as soon as the process has a name.

    1. Open Peak SOP and choose “Tell us how you do it”.
    2. Answer one question at a time. Speak or type; skipping is fine.
    3. The preview on the right grows as you go. Whatever Peak can't know is marked “Confirm”.
    4. At “Your process is runnable”: choose “Test now” or “Share with the team”.

  • How do I run a process step by step?How-to

How do I run a process step by step?

In Run mode, you only ever see one step. “✓ Done” moves on, “Skip” leaves it out, “Problem” records what's stuck, and “Help” shows the process's decisions and troubleshooting. At the end you complete the run and say whether anything was unclear.

    1. Open Run (My Queue) and start the process.
    2. Work step by step: “✓ Done”, “Skip” or “Problem”.
    3. “Why and common mistakes” explains what matters.
    4. Click “Complete run” and answer “Was anything unclear?”.

  • Are there templates for processes?How-to

    Are there templates for processes?

Peak SOP comes with nine, for example “Process a return”, “Weekly stock check”, “Escalate a customer complaint”, “Approve incoming invoices” and “Onboard a new employee”. A template becomes a draft for your company, which you adapt, test and publish.

    1. Open Peak SOP → Build.
    2. Under “Or start with a template”, choose a template, or take it from a suggestion in Radar.
    3. Adjust steps, owner and trigger.
    4. Click “Test now”, then publish.

  • What's the difference between a test run and a real run?Answer

What's the difference between a test run and a real run?

A test run executes the draft and doesn't count anywhere. Only after “Publish” do runs count as real work, show up in Health, and the process appears in your team's queue. Publishing requires an owner, a trigger and at least three steps.

  • Why is a process in my queue (or not)?Answer

Why is a process in my queue (or not)?

My Queue shows what a real cadence makes due (daily, weekly, monthly), what you scheduled in Peak Work, runs you've started and processes that start on an event. “Overdue” only applies once the cadence day in this period has passed. Processes owned by others are under “Team”.

  • What happens with “When does it happen next?”Answer

What happens with “When does it happen next?”

Peak creates a regular task, the same one you see in Work, Day and Board, scheduled for the chosen day and linked to the process. When you start the run from the queue and complete it, the task is done.

  • What happens when I choose “Problem” in a run or ask someone?Answer

What happens when I choose “Problem” in a run or ask someone?

With “Problem”, you choose the reason (such as “Instructions unclear”, “Access missing”, “Approval missing”) and a note. Then “Note and continue” or “End run here”. Under “Help” → “Ask”, you send your question to the owner; they get a card in their inbox. The reasons later appear in Health under “Where it gets stuck”.

  • What do Draft, Runnable, Reliable and Optimized mean?Answer

What do Draft, Runnable, Reliable and Optimized mean?

A process's quality level, with a score. Runnable means: title, trigger and at least three steps. Reliable additionally requires an owner, “Done when”, rules for special cases or escalation and at least 75 points. Optimized comes with an outcome or proof per step and an automation assessment. Peak shows on the process what's missing.

  • What does Health show in Peak SOP?Answer

What does Health show in Peak SOP?

Whether your processes work: how often they run and succeed, where they fail, which steps slow things down, what's due this week and what could be automated, plus an improvement backlog. Health only counts real runs of published processes from the last 180 days. Test runs and abandoned runs don't count, and people aren't rated.

  • What does Radar show in Peak SOP?Answer

What does Radar show in Peak SOP?

Which process is up next: processes you probably need, and ones that are stuck, outdated, without an owner, unused, dependent on one person or automatable. Each item comes with the reason and a direct path, such as a missing process from a template.

  • What does “Review due” mean on a process?Answer

What does “Review due” mean on a process?

A process can have a review cadence: monthly, quarterly or yearly. If it has passed since publication or the last review, the process appears in the queue under Optional and in Radar as outdated. In the review, you confirm that the work still runs this way, or adjust the process in the editor.

Can I import PDF, Word or Notion documents?

Not directly yet. Today Peak SOP reads pasted text and text files (.txt, .md). Copy the content of a PDF or Word document into the field and Peak structures it the same way. Direct import from PDF, Word, Notion, Google Drive and Loom is coming later.
