Via “New commitment”. Write the commitment in one sentence; Peak recognizes the deadline and type. Then you set how you'll know it's done, who keeps you on track, which evidence counts and when you'll work on it.
- “Pricing page finished by Thursday 4 pm” → deadline and a suggested definition of done.
- “Win 5 customers” is an outcome you can't guarantee: Peak suggests actions you can commit to.
- With a block in Peak Calendar and a person who keeps you on track, the commitment is protected.

In the commitment, via “Submit proof”. Proof is a link, a short explanation or a number. If a sign-off has been agreed, the commitment is only done once the accountability partner accepts the proof.
- Open the commitment under Commitments.
- Choose “Submit proof”. If proof is required, this button appears at the top in place of “Done”.
- Enter a link (with https://), a short explanation or a number and choose “Submit”.
- Without an agreed sign-off, the commitment is now done. With a sign-off, the accountability partner reviews the proof first.

- Open the commitment with the submitted proof.
- Optional: under “Note (optional)”, enter what's missing.
- “Accept” closes the commitment, “Return” sends it back with your note.

- Set the new deadline or adjust “Done means”.
- Under “Reason (required)”, enter a sentence, for example “Approval won't come until Friday”.
- Confirm with “Recommit”.

- Choose the type: Approval missing, Waiting on a person, Information missing, Tool / access, Decision pending, No capacity or Other.
- Under “What exactly is missing?”, describe what's holding you up and choose “Record blocker”.

3What happens if I miss a deadline?Answer

The commitment then appears as missed in Today, with a recovery: the reason, whether it was in your hands, and how to proceed (recommit, scale down, delegate, consciously drop it). A new deadline alone isn't enough; Peak also asks about the next step. The original deadline stays in the history.
What do the accountability levels mean?Answer
Page to shareWhat do the accountability levels mean?
The level determines how closely a commitment is supported. You see and choose it yourself. Self: only you. Visible: one person sees status and completion; proof is optional. Checked: a fixed checkpoint, proof expected. Active: follow-ups, risk alerts, and blockers go to the accountability partner. High stakes: several checkpoints, proof required, review, an agreed consequence and escalation. At no level does Peak collect money or publicly shame anyone.
What does the review in Peak Accountability show?Answer
Page to shareWhat does the review in Peak Accountability show?
How reliably commitments turn into results, for the week, month or quarter: kept on time, done with proof, flagged early, time to recovery, recommitted and silently missed. These are several numbers, not an overall score, and only you see them. Counting is based on the original deadline. Commitments created after the fact and completed immediately don't count. Peak only shows patterns once there are three similar cases.

Errors & problems
1“A commitment needs a deadline and a definition of done. As a draft, it works without them.”Error message
Page to share“A commitment needs a deadline and a definition of done. As a draft, it works without them.”
Without a deadline and without “Done means”, Peak only saves the commitment as a draft. A draft doesn't count yet. Open it, add a deadline and “Done means”, and choose “Commit”.

Only you see your reliability in the review, and Peak never turns it into a score about you. Commitments in a company space can be read by its members, but Peak shows them only to you and the person keeping you on track. Personal commitments are private.
